Millennium Development Goals Supported:
Goal 1: Eradicate extreme hunger and poverty
Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education
Goal 8: Develop a global partnership for development
Kericho Town houses some of Kenya’s most impoverished slums, with inhabitants undergoing a daily struggle for basic requirements. The youth of the town in particular are the most vulnerable through poverty and lack of employment. Recent census data shows that 57% of the population of this region are less than 20 years of age. Only 3,790 children have been recorded in primary schools, with far fewer attending secondary education. Overall the project aims to benefit young people in the area who would otherwise be forgotten and left to homelessness, crime and addictions. This project aims to create a community indoor and outdoor sports, educational and recreational facility in Kericho Town.

It forms part of an overall project plan to improve lives in Kericho Town.
